Creating a world for all Dungeon masters to use
When I started writing, the goal of this world was always clear, to create a vast and intricate world where every detail is expanded upon. A world brimming with rich lore, complex political systems, thriving guilds, majestic cities, and all the dungeons needed. Yet at the same time making the world playable, balancing complex depths with understandable playability. Thus this project is designed to provide Dungeon Masters with a fully realized setting, allowing them to focus solely on weaving their epic tales without the burden of world-building.
At the heart of the World of Aeshur lies Valenya, a continent shaped by the cataclysmic wars of ancient gods, the scars of history and the strong hand of the present. This land, steeped in mystery and magic, serves as the perfect place for storytellers to craft their own adventures, forged in a wealth of lore and history.
The lore of Valenya is crafted in an attempt to be highly accessible, ensuring that all who read it can easily comprehend its depths. As adventurers explore this world, readers will also uncover its secrets, piecing together the past through stories and hidden clues. This immersive approach not only covers history but extends to every facet necessary for an unforgettable adventure. Converging the ones that wish to play table-top games without too deep reading of lore, while also serving the ones that are those deep delvers of old tales and legends.
While crafting the vast lore of World of the Aeshur, I’ve always kept the official Dungeons & Dragons 5e framework in mind. This means that as a Dungeon Master, you can seamlessly integrate everything you already know from 5e into this world. All the races, monsters, and beasts can be used here, with their statistics, behaviors, and mechanics remaining unchanged, allowing you to run your campaign just as you normally would.
The difference? Everything has a new story. Each creature, civilization, and legend has been reimagined to fit the unique mythos of this world. And beyond that, the world introduces new foes, monsters, beasts, and demigods (Saettrish) to enrich your adventures with fresh challenges and untold mysteries.
